Up Close and Personal

I thought I would do something a little different for this post. - A collection of close-up headshots of garden birds.
You can see how the face feathers differ between the species, the Nuthatch and particularly the Dunnock having quite course plumage, whereas the smaller Long-tailed Tit has very fine feathers.

Wow Steve. You never cease to amaze me with your wildlife shots. I absolutely adore the garden bird closeups. So many different shapes and sizes of the heads and beaks.
I saw my first Eastern Towhee this weekend!

Good lord Steve these are beautiful captures. I love portraits and I know how difficult they are to compose and take. The detail is other worldly and of course that is the point, to take the viewer into the hidden places. Thank you for the adventure!

I draw birds as giveaways for my sweet followers, and whenever I see shots like these with such feather detail, I just want to draw them! Gorgeous!
