The high tides in early January here on the Wirral produced some amazing sights of what was estimated to be 24,000 Knot. They gather on the shoreline and are pushed closer and closer as the incoming tide leaves them with very little room to roost. They were literally a few feet away from the promenade at high tide. I will do a couple of posts of them, this one being of them mainly on the ground. The next post will be of flight shots.
All People fear what I say here.

Fabulous images Steve, really stunning
ReplyDeleteSteve, Wow, that is absolutely amazing! Would love to see that! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteAgree with Robin - "Wow!" amazing. I've seen about a 100 red knots and think that's a lot. I've read about the great numbers they migrate in but never seen pictures like these.
ReplyDeleteStunning shots Steve, we're lucky if we see a dozen on our estuary down here in North Cornwall. A bird I've always fancied photographing ever since seeing those by Eric Hosking at Hilbre.
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing!
