Gannets

My final post from the recent trip to Bempton Cliffs. The target species and stars of the day were the Gannets. Always entertaining and great fun to photograph, especially as a strong wind made them show off their aerobatic skills, giving us some good opportunities for a variety of flight shots.

Rose-coloured Starling

A few weeks ago a Rose-coloured Starling spent some time feeding in gardens at Rhos-on-Sea, North Wales. I had never photographed one before and this was an adult male in perfect plumage, so I went over for the day. It didn't really go to plan though, as I only saw the bird for the first time at around 6pm, and even then it was distant. It didn't come down to the feeders and my only photographic opportunities were on the rooftops. A very smart looking bird though.

The Buzzards are still visiting my garden to feed. The nest isn't far away and I'm hoping that they may bring the young with them soon. Here's a few recent shots.

Fox Cubs Growing Up

It's just over a month since I first started photographing the Fox cubs. I thought It would be a good time to do another post, to show how they have grown. They have become very independant now and will come to feed on their own or with their mother.

A recent trip to the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs in east Yorkshire turned out to be a very productive day. First to be processed are the Kittiwake images, here are a select few from the ones added to my website.

Little Gulls

This spring saw good numbers of migrating Little Gulls in the north west of England this year. It has been four or five years since we had so many, they lingered around for a couple of weeks, feeding on flies over fresh water lakes. This gave me the opportunity to get some shots, which I desperately needed of this species.
