Photo of the Day - Swallow in Flight

An adult Swallow, busy feeding in flight. Taken today.

Photo of the Day - Pied Flycatcher

This was taken two weeks ago, again in North Wales. I returned last week but there was no sign of the several pairs that were nesting. Pied Flycatchers just seem to disappear as soon as their chicks fledge the nest.

Photo of the Day - Male Whinchat

Taken today. A frustrating day with my target species being rather elusive. This male Whinchat was a bonus and posed for about five minutes, letting me move in closer and get a clear background.

Photo of the Day - Woodland Jay

A recent shot of a Jay taken in the garden.

Photo of the Day - Black-necked Grebe

More from my archives. This Black-necked Grebe was taken back in 2009.

Photo of the Day - Fluffed Up Blue Tit

Today's photo is a fluffed up Blue Tit on a Larch cone, taken in my garden a few years ago.

Photo of the Day - Osprey

Digging through my archives, here's an Osprey from 2007. Nice because it has no id tags and the fish is a brown Trout, rather than a rainbow, which they are usually seen with in photographs.
